Amanda Klapchar, M.D., a lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio, has a long history of partnering with Aultman Hospital through various programs dating back to her high school years. A graduate of Northeast Ohio Medical University’s (NEOMED) BS/MD program, Dr. Klapchar knew from an early age that she wanted to pursue a meaningful career of service in medicine.
Immediately following her graduation from North Canton Hoover High School, she began an accelerated undergraduate degree program at Youngstown State University. Upon graduation, she began her medical studies at NEOMED, taking an enrichment year during the middle of this training to complete a Bioethics Certificate Program. Upon receiving her Doctor of Medicine degree, she pursued internship and residency training through NEOMED’s joint program based at Cleveland Clinic-Akron General and Summa Health System.
She has a professional interest in working with young adults and in managing depression and anxiety disorders. Dr. Klapchar is delighted to begin her career as a psychiatrist at Aultman Hospital, a place that has already given her so much.
In her spare time, Dr. Klapchar enjoys traveling, fitness, cooking, being outdoors, and spending time with her husband, family, friends, and adopted greyhound Smart.
